Maligne Canyon Winter Ice Walk

Summary:

Spectacular icicles hanging along Jasper's Maligne Canyon rock faces.
On the ice walk, some hanging frozen waterfalls may break loose, which is an obvious reason to stay on the trail and not observe from down below in certain areas.

Visit Maligne Canyon's winter Ice hike numerous times if you can, to observe the fantastic changes.

Maligne Canyon is just as fascinating to hike in the Winter as the Summer!

There are many areas along the Maligne canyon in winter that allow closer observations.

The pictures just above are of the same area as the pictures below(summer months), which illustrates the difference in water volume. Many of Maligne Canyon's summer water-filled areas are very dry already - by the end of November.

While hiking maligne canyon in the winter at any time is very interesting, probably the best time to go is when you can witness structure changes.

Maligne Canyon hiking is very slippery in the winter, or colder months.
